Yttrium nitride is black powder ,which get high melting point, which could reach 2570 ℃. It is made from yttrium hydride and nitrogen. It  get high melting point at 2570℃, which is for refractory ceramics material.

Applications

YN use as raw material for tantalum powder metallurgy which could improve processability of tantalum powder.  Considering its high melting point, YN is aslo raw material for some kinds of refractory materials as ceramics, alloys.
