Zirconium Chloride


Zirconium Chloride is white crystal or powder, which tend to deliquesce. It is soluble in cold water, ethyl alcohol and diethyl ether, however not soluble in benzene, carbon tetrachloride and carbon disulfide. Zirconium dioxide is the raw material.

Applications

Zirconium tetrachloride is mainly for analytical reagent, catalyst for organic synthesis, waterproof agent and tanning agent. It is raw material for metal zirconium powder and pigment too.

Zirconium(IV) chloride is raw material for zirconium compounds and organic metal compounds. Its solution is cleaning agent for remelting magnesium metal, which can remove iron and silicon.
